Error or Log Message:

The cloud file provider exited unexpectedly
The cloud file provider is not running

Defect or Enhancement Number:

Cause:

The issue appears related to persistent cached session data, credentials, or leftover client state not being fully removed during uninstall/reinstall procedures. Corrupted local Edge folders and retained authentication/cache data caused the client to continue reusing stale session information.

Resolution or Workaround:

Performed a complete cleanup of the Panzura Edge client environment:

  • Stopped all Edge-related processes via Task Manager

  • Removed remaining Panzura Edge folders from:

    • C:\ProgramData\

    • C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\

    • C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\

  • Cleared related entries from Credential Manager

  • Rebooted the machine

  • Reinstalled Edge using a fresh installer and ran as Administrator

After cleanup and reinstall, the issue was resolved successfully.

Notes:

  • The reinstall did not recreate folders until residual cached data and credentials were removed.

  • Customer confirmed the workaround resolved the issue and approved case closure.
