Filecloud upgrade and permission concerns

Upgrading filecloud and NTFS permission concerns


Environment:

  • Product - FileCloud Server
  • Version - 20.3.0.13059
  • Platform - Windows

Resolution or Workaround:

 Setup:

  • Running on a standalone Windows Server

  • No SSO integration configured

  • No granular folder-level permissions

  • Users authenticated using Active Directory

  • No Storage encryption enabled (Managed Storage)

  • Network Folders integrated with Filecloud


Initially upgrade the test to the earliest possible version available, which is 21.3. Later upgrade it to 23.251 using the latest version of the cloudupdatool and the files required.

It is always recommended to take a backup before proceeding with the upgrade process
