Unable to Share Files with New External Users in FileCloud v23.253

Original Question or Issue:

Version v23.253.0.31723 does not allow sharing to a new user, existing user works okay

Environment:

  • Product - FileCloud Server
  • Version - 23.253
  • Platform - Linux

Steps to Reproduce:

  • Add a new external user to a share.

  • Re-add the same external user to the share.

    • The system prompts for the phone number again.


Error or Log Message:

  • No specific error message observed.

  • Behavior includes repeated phone number prompt and failure to properly recognize newly added external users.

Defect or Enhancement Number:

  • FCL-7497

  • FCL-7680

  • FCL-7681

Cause:

This issue is caused by a defect in FileCloud v23.253, where newly added external users are not properly recognized during subsequent sharing attempts, resulting in repeated prompts and inconsistent behavior between new and existing users.

Resolution or Workaround:

The issue is resolved by applying the following patches:

  • FCL-7497 – Unable to Share with New Users

  • FCL-7680 – Fix for Admin Portal

  • FCL-7681 – Fix for User Portal

After applying the patches, sharing with new external users works as expected without repeated prompts.
