Unable to Access Admin Portal After All Admin Accounts Disabled

Original Question or Issue:

An administrator may become locked out of the Admin Portal if all admin accounts are accidentally disabled. Currently, there is no fail-safe mechanism in the Admin Portal to prevent all admin roles from being unchecked, which can result in complete loss of administrative access.


Environment:

  • Product - FileCloud Server
  • Version - 23.261
  • Platform - Linux

Steps to Reproduce:

 


Error or Log Message:

  • Admin Portal login fails or redirects without access

  • No visible error indicating recovery options

  • No fail-safe warning preventing removal of all admin users


Defect or Enhancement Number:

No JIRA assigned


Cause:

  • All admin roles were removed manually

  • The system currently does not enforce a safeguard to ensure at least one active admin remains


Resolution or Workaround:

  1. Contact FileCloud Support

  2. Request a master admin account reset

  3. Provide approval from the licensed email address associated with your FileCloud instance

  4. Once verified, Support will:

    • Reset the master admin account

    • Provide updated credentials to regain access


Notes:

  • This action requires verification for security purposes

  • Only the registered license owner email can authorize the reset

  • After regaining access:

    • Ensure at least one active admin account is always maintained

    • Avoid removing admin privileges from all users simultaneously
