The ^SHAREPASSWORD^ placeholder in the Share Email Template displays the share password with double quotes, even though quotation marks are not included around the placeholder in the email template.

Original Question or Issue:

The ^SHAREPASSWORD^ placeholder in the Share Email Template displays the share password with double quotes, even though quotation marks are not included around the placeholder in the email template. 

Environment:

  • Product - FileCloud Server
  • Version - 23.262.0.33902 / 23.262.1 
  • Platform - Any

Steps to Reproduce:

  • Configure the Share Email Template with the ^SHAREPASSWORD^ placeholder without quotation marks.
  • Create a password-protected share.
  • Set a share password, such as iqvhbtnq57ch.
  • Send the share notification email.
  • Open the received email.
  • Observe the password displayed through the ^SHAREPASSWORD^ placeholder.
  • Confirm that double quotes are added around the password.

Defect or Enhancement Number:

FCL-12181 

Cause:

The quotation marks are added during processing of the ^SHAREPASSWORD^ placeholder. The email template does not contain quotation marks around the placeholder. 

Resolution or Workaround:

No workaround currently identified.

Bug FCL-12181 has been created to address the issue. An ETA for the fix has not yet been scheduled.
