Defect or Enhancement Number:

Cause:

This issue can happen when Solr core directory contained extra files that are not part of the expected structure. Solr requires a clean core folder with only the following:

core.properties file
conf/ folder (related config files)
data/ folder (for Lucene index files)

Any additional or unrelated files in the core directory can cause Solr to misinterpret the structure and fail to initialize, resulting in errors such as “CoreContainer has shut down.”

Resolution or Workaround:

Unwanted files should be removed from the core directory. To avoid future issues, ensure only Solr-related files are kept in the core folder.
