The most secure and efficient method for enabling external document uploads in FileCloud is to create a dedicated folder and share the folder with upload permissions.
Follow the steps below.
Create a Folder
- Log in to FileCloud.
- Navigate to the target location.
- Click New Folder and assign an appropriate name.
Share the Folder
- Click the Share icon for the folder.
- Select Anyone with the link.
- Optionally enable password protection for additional security.
- For external clients with a FileCloud account, share the folder directly with the client email address.
Enable Upload Permissions
- In the share settings, enable the Upload permission.
- Upload permission allows external clients to upload files into the folder.
Enhance Security (Recommended)
- Set a password for the share.
- Configure an expiration date for the share link.
Send the Link
-
Copy the generated share link.
-
Send the link to the external client for secure document uploads without granting broad system access
This configuration provides a simple, controlled, and secure method for external parties to submit files while maintaining strong protection for internal data.
