Promoted SSO Administrator Unable to Switch to Admin Portal in FileCloud Server 23.262.x
Original Question or Issue:
After upgrading to FileCloud Server 23.262.2.34016, users with administrator privileges through a promoted SSO account are unable to access the Admin Portal using Switch to Admin Portal.
The FileCloud portal is configured for SSO, and the user's FileCloud account has administrator access. However, selecting Switch to Admin Portal redirects the user to a username/password login form instead of using the configured SSO authentication. The user's SSO credentials do not work on this form.
Environment:
- Product - FileCloud Server
- Version - 23.262
- Platform - Windows
Steps to Reproduce:
- Configure FileCloud Server with SSO authentication.
- Use an SSO user account with promoted administrator privileges.
- Log in to the FileCloud User Portal using SSO.
- Select Switch to Admin Portal.
- The user is redirected to a username/password authentication form.
- No SSO authentication option is presented.
- The user's SSO credentials cannot be used to authenticate to the Admin Portal.
Error or Log Message:
The observed behavior is that the Admin Portal prompts for a username and password instead of redirecting the promoted administrator through the configured SSO authentication.
Defect or Enhancement Number:
No JIRA assigned
Cause:
This is a known issue affecting FileCloud Server 23.262.x where promoted administrators using SSO may be prompted for username/password authentication when selecting Switch to Admin Portal, instead of being redirected through the configured SSO authentication.

After applying the patch, the Message Queue service was restarted. A full server reboot was not required.
