Multi AD Config Doesn't Work

Original Question or Issue:

We want to a second AD Domain, however this is not working.

Environment:

  • Product - FileCloud Server
  • Version - 23.263
  • Platform - Windows

Cause:

In Global Catalog mode FileCloud uses the Forest Trust strategy, which only ever connects to the first AD server from the Admin Portal. Multi-AD servers from adconfig.php are ignored in that mode.

Resolution or Workaround:

Disable the setting Enable Multiple AD Domains.
This is found in the Admin Portal > Settings > Authentication.
Despite its label, this switch does not enable multi-AD: it turns on Global Catalog mode.
