Original Question or Issue:

MP3 files are displayed as downloads instead of providing in-browser audio playback in the FileCloud User Portal.

Environment:

  • Product - FileCloud Server
  • Version - Any
  • Platform - Any

Steps to Reproduce:

  • Enable Disable Music Playback in Admin Portal.
  • Upload an MP3 file.
  • Open the file in the User Portal.
  • Observe that the file is available for download instead of playback.

Error or Log Message:

  • HAR request contains preview=1 with disposition=attachment.
  • HTTP 200 response with Content-Type: text/html;charset=UTF-8.
  • Configuration contains <DISABLEMUSIC>1</DISABLEMUSIC>.

Defect or Enhancement Number:

 

Cause:

  • Music Playback is disabled in FileCloud configuration.
  • DISABLEMUSIC=1 prevents audio playback in the User Portal.

Resolution or Workaround:

  • Navigate to Admin Portal → Customization → General → UI Features.
  • Disable Disable Music Playback.
  • Refresh the User Portal and test MP3 playback.
