Migrate S3 to Local - Managed Storage

Original Question or Issue:

How can we migrate the managed storage from S3 to Local?

Environment:

• Product - FileCloud Server
• Version - 23.241
• Platform - Any

Steps to Reproduce:

Managed storage configured as S3.

Error or Log Message:

We don't have any tool to migrate from S3 storage to locally managed storage.

Defect or Enhancement Number:

Resolution or Workaround:

You can follow the below high level steps:

• Setup a new environment: Direct Installation - FileCloud Docs - Server
• Export all the user data using our export tool from the old environment: Export Files - FileCloud Docs - Server
• Replicate the settings from the old environment admin portal to the new admin portal (AD settings, DLP, Content Search, ICAP, etc)
• Re-import the user data using the seeding tool: Migrating Content with the Seeding Tool - FileCloud Docs - Server
• Recreate the shares or request the users to perform the shares again.
• Route the traffic to the new environment after internal testing.
