FileCloud Desktop on macOS "Lock automatically on edit" is not working

Original Question or Issue:

 "Lock automatically on edit" feature is not working on FileCloud Desktop on macOS 

Environment:

• Product - FileCloud Desktop
• Version - 
• Platform - MacOS

Steps to Reproduce:

• Install and configure FileCloud Desktop on macOS.
• Enable Lock automatically on edit in FileCloud Desktop settings.
• Open a Microsoft Office file from the FileCloud Desktop folder.
• Observe that the file is not automatically locked.

Cause:

FileCloud Desktop on macOS requires Full Disk Access to automatically detect when Microsoft Office files are opened for editing. Without this permission, the Lock automatically on edit feature will not function as expected.

Additionally, this feature is supported only for Microsoft Office files (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

Resolution or Workaround:

To resolve the issue:

1. Open System Settings.
2. Navigate to Privacy & Security.
3. Select Full Disk Access.
4. Enable Full Disk Access for FileCloud Desktop.
5. Open FileCloud Desktop and verify that Lock automatically on edit is enabled under Settings.

After granting Full Disk Access, I verified that the Lock automatically on edit feature works as expected when editing Microsoft Office files.

• This feature is supported only for Microsoft Office files (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
• The issue was resolved after granting Full Disk Access to FileCloud Desktop on macOS.
