FileCloud Audit Logs Not Displaying or Updating in the Dashboard
Original Question or Issue:
Customer reported concerns with FileCloud audit logs, including audit log visibility and whether activities were being properly recorded. The customer was also concerned that dashboard widgets were loading slowly or not displaying.
Environment:
- Product - FileCloud Server
- Version - 23.261
- Platform - Windows
Steps to Reproduce:
- Verify the audit log level under FileCloud settings.
- Perform a test file upload.
- Check whether the upload activity is recorded in the audit logs.
- Review the audit log dashboard and archive settings.
Error or Log Message:
No specific error message was identified. The customer previously experienced issues with audit log visibility/dashboard widgets.
Defect or Enhancement Number:
Cause:
The audit log level was previously a concern, but it was confirmed during the session that the audit log level was set to Full and audit events were being generated successfully.
A large upload queue can cause dashboard widgets to load slowly or not display, which may have contributed to the earlier audit log visibility issue.
Resolution or Workaround:
- Confirmed the audit log level is set to Full.
- Performed a test upload and confirmed the activity was successfully recorded in the audit logs.
- Clarified that server resources are automatically managed and there is no direct option to allocate additional resources specifically to FileCloud.
- Explained that audit logs older than the 7-day dashboard display period can be retrieved by exporting them from the archive location configured in the settings.
